Neighborhood Trolley

Neighborhood Trolley

This is a model of the Neighborhood Trolley from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Mr. Roger's was a very kind and gentle teacher of young children on public television in America from the 60's into the new century. He taught children the values of kindness, respect, and the essential value of every person and also helped children make sense of this sometimes scary world that we 'adults' have made. This is a work in progress, and I intend to make this a motorized vehicle with lights and the trolley sounds from the original TV show. That could take a while, so I wanted to get this posted during the 50th anniversary year of Mr. Roger's tv show. :) Update : Hey boys and girls - can you say LAZY? I knew you could. Yes, Mr. Reactron has been very lazy, but he's gotten back to this project in time for the new Tom Hanks film 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood' coming soon to a theater near you! The new STL files are designed for printing a real model of the trolley, to be glued together with 3mm brass wire for the front and rear posts and 1/4 inch square dowels for the upright posts. I hope to get all the modeling done in the next week or so - so check back soon to see the finished trolley and get the build details (2019.11.10). Update 2019.11.15 : All parts are now available for printing. One thing I changed in Cura was the dimensions of the rooftop signs - these were altered individually to 132mm long by 9mm high by 5.4mm high. I glued everything together using Bob Smith 2-part CA glue (the thick kind). I used 1/4'' square wooden dowel rod for the upright posts because I thought it would need the extra strength, but I now think that it would have been better to print them. I've included a printable part for that. The seat-side model was mirrored in Cura and I painted the red decoration after printing.
