NEMA 14 to 17 adapter

NEMA 14 to 17 adapter

The NEMA 14 motor on my Solidoodle 4 burned up after about 3 days of use. As sad as this was, a little research showed that apparently the motor was being overpowered and thus overheated. I happened to have a spare NEMA 17 lying around so I made an adapter! I machined mine out of aluminum but I made holes for nuts so it can be 3d printed. My machine does jog now, and it's much much quieter, however it occasionally skips steps, which makes printing nearly impossible. My NEMA 17 is the 48mm version, and I suspect that it is now under-powered, as it sometimes binds despite being at full current. I'm hoping that Solidoodle with replace my fried NEMA 14 with a shorter NEMA 17.
