Nema 17 Heatsink and Fan Adapter Mount

Original design from simon_fernan who originally remixed it from zuberio. This adapter allows fitting a 40mm fan to a 40x40x11mm heatsink to a Nema 17 motor. This remix addresses many issues over the modified design from simon_fernan and was modeled specifically around a Nema 17 STEP file in Fusion360 to give the best results. The following improvements include: * Adapter Clamps have more surface area grab motor. * A 90° slotted rail for the heat sink to sit into properly. * Altered motor seating to avoid buckling on the Adapter's clamps. * Properly spaced M3 holes (threaded) for a 40mm fan. * 0.15mm tolerances added between components for easier installation/disassembly. This remix also includes a full-bodied "SQUARE" version which combines the two separate pieces into one but beware, it is extremely more difficult to print. DO NOT USE PLA FOR THIS!!! I tried a couple prototypes with PLA at first but they all snapped under the smallest stresses. PETG is the way to go here. If you have worked with PETG before, then you know that it can be more difficult to get smaller detailed objects to work properly. I recommend starting with the "SPLIT" version first and verify that it works with your hardware before attempting the "SQUARE" version. Every printer is different but I had good results with the following settings: 0.2 mm layer height 250 on nozzle. 70 on bed w/ glue stick. 20mm/sec print speed. No cooling. A lower layer height would provide better resolution to the female screw threads, but with PETG this can be difficult to do without having filament cling to the nozzle and ruining a print. Alternatively, could install some M3x6mm threaded inserts (M3x4mm would be best) if you are having troubles the threads. I used 4 x M3x12mm Flathead screws for installation. If you use panhead screws, you may want to try them in a 14mm length as they might have less clearance for the front-facing socket. If you use a screw with too much length, the screw will push into the heatsink and it will prevent you from attaching it to the motor properly. If you like this design, be sure to leave a comment and a like. Thank you! "Bark bark!" RoscoeTheDog
