Neo Classic

Neo Classic

This is a large print, requires a lot of supporting material, and is time- and labor-intensive to finish. I used a service to print the model, since I sure can't print anything this big. Inspired by designs here and elsewhere, I wanted to create my own full-size retro-future compact *Raspintosh* case. The design takes cues from the SE, Classic, Color Classic, and TAM. Holding it in your hands feels like holding a piece of computer history that never actually happened. *Weird.* The screen hole happens to be a pretty good fit for the 7" HDMI display from Adafruit. The Pi is mounted in back with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3102153 This design looks cool, but there are some practical problems with the printed model. The floppy hole ended up being just for show, and is difficult to finish. The camera hole is just a tad too snug for the Pi camera. The design is too front-heavy, requiring a counterweight in back for safety. The "ports" at the bottom of the case are too small to really do anything with. There is a newer version of this model, based on lessons learned; see [Neo Classic II](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3102419). This thing was made with Tinkercad.
