NERO AND SENECA - Museum of Zamora, Spain Statue by Eduardo Barrón sculpted in 1904 - Awarded at the 1904 Bellas Artes Prize in Madrid, the statue represents Seneca, counsellor of Nero the emperor, guiding him in presence of Minerva, the Goddess of the culture, arts and war. The phillosopher is acting and convincing him with with gestures, while the emperor looks vaguely unconvinced.
