I have created a nest of dragon eggs with a baby dragon at its center! These models that fit inside models are more challenging then one might think - especially if you add intricate patterns.

Assembled, the biggest egg is 8.7cm tall and then baby dragon is 4.8cm tall

This was originally one of my Patreon (currently on hold) models and is now an Easter gift to the community for 2022 (and thereafter).

They are scaled (haha!) so the largest egg pieces can fit on a Prusa SL1 (working on the basis that most people don't have larger resin printers.

FDM machine people - these eggs will work very well for you too but you are strongly advised to scale up the eggs, using a consistent scale should you wish them to fit inside one another.

Each of the eggs would make a decent container in its own right though and the baby dragon is detailed enough to stand alone as a larger figurine.

I printed the eggs in resin, flat on the bed, so I have versions of the lower pieces with pressure release holes but as I know people like to print things in their own way, the included versions do not have the holes. Let me know if you'd like those versions though and I will upload them.

Incidentally, in a further effort to try new things, the swirly silver egg has been painted with Stuart Semple's heat sensitive Shift paint. The effect was even more marked before I silvered the egg, but silver was in my egg vision and I think it works very well. By the way, the pattern was based the cracks in a tea egg I'd made ages ago but had forgotten about (the pattern, not the egg, the egg was disposed of in a timely manner)

I made a multi material version of the biggest dragon egg. This is scaled bigger than the original because I think with FDM MMU you'll get a much better result on a larger model. The print of the MMU egg was made by FilamanetFrenzy a.k.a Tom Jackson
