the Nevermore-class privateer vessel was primarily built in the secret shipyards of the Monolith coalition, although some of its parts can be traced to outside sources. It boasts twelve rapid-fire point defense "Blizzard"-type railguns, as well as eight medium-weight "Lightning Storm" type railguns. It boasts a small missile armament near the nose, capapble of launching eight bomb-pumped laser missiles simultaneously. Its primary engine was built in the secret Monolith yards, but spectrographic analysis shows it to be an antimatter-fuelled inertial confinement engine, a formidable weapon in its own right. A unique feature of the Nevermore is its ability to land and even hover over planetary surfaces, thanks to the four swivelling jet pods, two mounted in each wing. These serve a double duty: in space, they remain spinning and are used as massive gyroscopes to keep the ship amazingly stable while its guns are firing. The Nevermore is currently captained by one Captain Eliza Black, with a crew of over one hundred, making it the most densely crewed ship in the Fleet. unlike any other vessels, with one notable exception, the Nevermore does not ever participate in large-scale fleet maneuvers, as its relatively small size and light armor would make it an easy target of opportunity. The ship is instead used as a privateer, for with its speed and accuracy, it can disable cargo haulers and other noncombatant ships without destroying them, and will then take their cargo. The Nevermore is capable of 700 gravities of acceleration in space, and can reach speeds of up to 300 miles per hour in atmosphere. its four Mk12 Lightning-pattern laserdrive engines each can provide upwards of 600 million newtons of force. Its main cargo bay forms most of the rear of its hull, and can hold up to 1000 tonnes of payload. After a raid, this cargo tends to be booty, but before a battle the cargo bay can double as a staging area for the crew. It can even be stocked with cheap, disposable armored vehicles produced by the ship's internal 3D printer. These are recycled after an engagement and allow for even more cargo to be loaded. The Nevermore is the spaceship equivalent of a playground bully, designed to take on defenseless ships much larger than itself, then get away cleanly before a fair fight develops.
