New Murloc

thingiverse

This is a revised version of the Murloc posted by jempf788. The back foot was below-level and the center of mass was outside the footprint so it wouldn't stand up. I fixed those issues in Meshmixer and smoothed out the model, gave it a little more arm muscle, and slightly increased the diameter of the back-spikes so they print a little easier... you still need to be extremely careful with them though. I've printed this at 55% scale and it came out pretty well when I printed with supports everywhere and tinkered with roof/floor spacing. Personally, I wouldn't go smaller than that but you can certainly try. I had good results tilting it about 45 degrees forward so that most of the back spikes were as close to vertical as possible. It looked good and needed fewer supports... but be aware this makes the spikes more fragile, though. For stronger but slightly lumpier printing (with more supports to remove), the spikes and forearms should be as horizontal as possible when printing (rotate 45 degrees backwards instead)
