New designs have been created using the Ise katagami as a starting point, based on Japanese traditional paper patterns for dyeing. "Ise paper patterns" are recognized for their intricate and stunning carved designs. These designs exist across Japan but often go unutilized. Craftsmen concur that individuals need to innovate and develop new patterns. In this instance, 26 people, including myself, have attempted to design original patterns. We encourage diverse usage of these new designs: try out various ways of incorporating them!
