Nexus 6 Flexible Bumper

Nexus 6 Flexible Bumper

thingiverse

UPDATE: Klop2031 sent me a new version of the case with some of the geometry cleaned up. If you're having trouble with the original, try the "fixed" version. I couldn't find a bumper for the Nexus 6 on Thingiverse, so I whipped one up! Printed (very slowly) with Ninjaflex, this fits snugly around the Nexus 6 and allows access to buttons, headphone and power jacks. Lots of rubber at the corners to absorb a fall. It's not perfect so please let me know what needs improving. I'd love to do this in SCAD at some point, but I'm still fastest with Blender so that's usually what I use. Instructions IMPORTANT: You need to print this with flexible filament like Ninjaflex. ABS/PLA etc are going to be too rigid and could scrape/damage your phone. I printed this using standard Ninjaflex on a Replicator clone. I haven't done any extruder upgrades, so I have to print very slowly around 15/20mm/s at .2mm layer height. Temperatures for me were 240/45. Probably hotter than I need, but flexible filament binds up really easily so I wanted a little headroom. I didn't use any supports, the long bridge over the volume buttons somehow worked fine. I'm as surprised as you are.
