<b>Niger Thistle Seed Bird Feeder</b>. Finches (and similar) of all kinds love this stuff. Designed to use the thistle seed feeder socks commonly available at pet or garden stores, or online. It can use either the tie-on or the elastic top type. Holds 3 of them (most commercial sock feeders only hold 1 or 2, but we sometimes get hundreds of goldfinches, house finches, and pine siskins at a time, so I had to up the game to keep them all happier and reduce squabbling), with a reservoir in the top for extra seed that refills the sock(s) as the birds eat seed. This feeder will hold well over 5lbs (2.27kg) of seed. For a single sock version, please see Thing # 4660212. Use a wire or string through the center holes, with a knot or some other stop at the bottom. Leave enough room that the top (cover) can slide up the string or wire so that you can refill without disassembling. You will definitely need supports for this. 11/1/20: Tweaked the diameter of the inner ring on the cover by 1.5mm (smaller) to fit more easily into the base... the fit was a bit too snug for my liking.
