No Soliciting Sign

No Soliciting Sign

thingiverse

Tired of solicitors showing up at my front door 3 or 4 times every week. They always have the same excuses for ignoring the simple No Soliciting sign--"Oh, I didn't see it," or "Oh, I'm not soliciting." Well now they can see exactly what I mean by "No Soliciting." The version I'm showing in the picture was created on a Prusa. I simply used PrusaSlicer to set a filament change so that I could make the (proud) lettering a contrasting color. Obviously red on black works out really well. (I believe this was Hatchbox red on Prusament black.) There are two holes in the back to accommodate #8 screws. Standard wood screws will fit, though I found the holes just a hair small for the masonry screws I used on my brick (touched them with a drill and all is good). Print at whatever layer height you'd like, doesn't need a lot of infill. Do NOT use supports, else the pockets for the screw heads will be full of support and you'll spend an hour trying to dig that out. I hope this works for you! I hope it works for me. Either way, it gets my point across. ***UPDATE 2021-07-04:*** So it turns out that PLA doesn't do well even on a fairly shady porch during a relatively cool week in a Texas summer--it's already warped significantly, so I'm retrying with PETG. That said, since I was reprinting, I widened the holes slightly. The v4 .stl file has slightly larger openings for the screws, so if your #8 screws don't fit, the v4 might be the way to go. ***UPDATE 2021-08-12:*** After reprinting in PETG, the sign is holding up just fine. Of course it's been a mild summer by Texas standards, but we've had some 100F days since I hung this.
