No-Tie Shoe Laces (Secure Hold!)

<p>So, this isn't exactly some super innovative concept BUT if you are one of those people who aren't exactly fans of tying shoelaces, have a 3D printer (or access to one), and have some TPU filament...This thing is for you!</p> <p>My major focus while designing these was to make sure that once inserted,<em>the laces remained securely in place</em>. I found that other designs slipped out too easily. With these laces, the ends are slightly thicker, and have "hooks" for a sturdier hold. Personally, the one time I did try to remove one, I ended up having to cut off the ends because I couldn't slip them out through the eye-holes.</p> <p>I have uploaded STL files with the following lengths:</p> <ul> <li>40mm</li> <li>45mm</li> <li>50mm</li> <li>55mm</li> <li>60mm</li> <li>65mm</li> <li>70mm</li> </ul> <p>To figure out what size you need, put on a shoe and measure the distance from one eye-hole to the opposite eye-hole. If you notice that not all the eye-holes are roughly the same distance apart, you might need to mix-and-match multiple sizes. For reference, I wear a US men's 9 and I used 45mm laces for all eye-hole pairs.</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>Ender 3 Pro</p> <p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div> <p><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p class="detail-setting infill"><strong>Infill: </strong> <div><p>20</p></div> <p><strong>Filament:</strong> Generic TPU Post-Printing =============</p> <p><strong>Some tips...</strong></p> <div><ul><li> I found that the easiest way to insert these was by first (of course) taking out the old laces... <p>Then, starting at the bottom of the shoe, push the tip of one of the ends through the eye-hole, and then use a tweezer from the inside to pull the rest of the tip through.</p> <p>Repeat for the corresponding eye-hole on the opposite side.</p> <p>Work your way up the shoe; however, depending on the fit of your shoe, I found that for me it worked best to leave the top-most eye-hole pair empty. Despite that, I find my shoes fitting nice and snug.</p> </li></ul></div></p></p> Category: Accessories
