Noble Tomb - 3d model and lighting design

sketchfab

This is the only model of this contest i did just for this purpose, and this is the one i’m more proud about. 583 pictures in RAW format, just with my G80. The very first mesh was about 20million polygons. Then i decimated to 5 millions. Then i selected the flat surfaces and i did the topology’s optimization in the filters panel. Then i decimated it again to reach the 470K polygons i wanted. I projected the texture and i uploaded it to Sketchfab. Then i exported the high-poly and the low-poly meshes into XNormal, so i obtained an 8K normal map. I uploaded it into Sketchfab and the lighting design begins! A 30 degrees violet beam from the right of the Tomb, in order to enhance the veiled woman and the higher statue. A 50 degrees blue beam from the left, targeted towards the Count and the prayer (and to the higher one). A directional light from above that simulate the moon, in a soft desaturated cyan. I suggest you all to navigate both the final render and the diffuse map!
