I recently got a Nokia 5G21 internet gateway from T-Mobile. The device is passively cooled and runs a bit warmer than I'd like although it never had any indications of overheating. I found a silent 120mm fan in my junk box and printed a housing to place the fan on top of the gateway to pull cooling air through the gateway. While I didn't measure before and after temperatures, the Gateway now runs cool to the touch where it originally warmed the housing a bit while in use.

I didn't want to use supports in printing, so it is printed in two parts which are super-glued together. The fan sits in the upper housing and is not fixed in place. There is a small hole in one side of the fan housing for the wire and plug to power the fan. In my case, it is a 12vdc fan, so it is powered from a 12vdc “wall wart”. The housing is a loose fit on the Gateway as I didn't want to risk marring the Gateway finish.
