Non-Intelligent Smoke detector

Non-Intelligent Smoke detector

thingiverse

One of two smoke detectors we are doing. This is has no extra intelligence and is wired Meant to provide a smoke detector to control power to a 3D printer. This is the most basic and cheapest one. (look for another we are doing which is wireless and includes programmable features with Arduino)\ The EAGLE files are included. They are NOT a complete schematic, but rather a guide for how the basic components are wired together. There is nothing complicated here, but it is a handy check. We added the stand-alone relay card since the one on the detector is not very high current. There is no low-battery alert on this one. If you battery dies it will simply stop working. I was disappointed that this was never made more generally available. There are two parts. The Sensor box and the control box (linked by whatever length CAT 5 cable). The control box is powered by a 9v battery. The control box is wired to a power strip (or plug, whatever) and will turn the power off when the smoke alarm is triggered.
