nVidia Shield™ K1 Sun Shield

This is a snap on sun shield holder for the nVidia Shield K1. I don't have an original Shield to test so I don't know if this fits or aligns with it. When using this, the headphone jack IS covered and can't be used. This is designed for using the Shield K1 as a display for the DJI Phantom or Inspire series of drones. The center supports are lined up and are the correct width to set into the tablet holder on the RC unit (as seen in the photos). I designed this so the holder can remain on the shield and the sun shade can be removed, folded and slipped along with the tablet into a storage pocket in a case or backpack. I used standard black poster board and velcro dots from the dollar store (2/$1 poster board and $1 for the dots). Total cost is around $2-$3 including filament. While I flagged this as a remix, I only used a small section of the edge profile of the original item but I am giving credit for where I sourced the profile. Sorry for the bad photos, battery was dead in my DSLR so I used my phone. Post-Printing The poster board was cut as a strip of 6" wide. The left and right sections are 4-7/8" wide, center is 9" wide. I cut a pleasing angle on the sides but isn't required. The cutouts for the buttons and USB port were rounded using a hole punch for the corners then connected using scissors. I sanded the clips on the 3D print so they were smooth and wiped with acetone for a smooth surface to give the velcro dots a good surface to adhere to. To locate them properly on the poster board, apply all of the hooks to the 3D print. Then peel the back off one of the loop portion and apply it to the center of the top clip on the print. Center the poster board shield and press against it. The dots from the dollar store have remarkably good adhesive backing and they seem to stay put very well so you only have one chance to get it right on the poster board without having to cut another piece. Once you have the top center, apply the two loop dots (with backing removed) on the clips on one side of the frame. Keeping the poster board square on your work surface align the edge on the side clip on the bottom. Once you have it aligned, press to adhere to the loop dot. Then press to adhere to the top dot. Repeat for the other side and you are done. When in the DJI or 3rd party tablet holder on the RC unit, the clamp will pinch the top of the poster board against the top clip. This will hold it in strong winds and is by design. The top velcro dot is only used to hold it in place when not in the RC clamp.
