NXTAND - Adjustable Phone Stand

NXTAND - Adjustable Phone Stand

A simple, adjustable phone stand. Simply turn the knob to readjust! HOW IT WORKS: It functions by a small nut and threads that push the two pieces together. They look into place by tiny notched designed on to the face of contact. This allows the user to easily twist the knob, readjust to desired angle, tighten knob. This comes from a series of phone stands, I call the NXTAND (the next stand). This design is the most refined of the series. Video of stand in practice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k8VL9JOAhE Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Infill: 20-40 Notes: No supports needed. Depending on your printer, you may need to scale the nut up. I printed on the Makerbot Repicator 2X and had to scale up 102%. Post-Printing Acetone vapor I used a finishing technique that involves acetone vapor. This process smooths the prints surface and makes it look like it wasn't even 3D printed. If you try this, be careful not to leave it too long, because my first attempt caused the threads to become too smooth and no longer function properly. The model has a triangular cut-out through each piece, it's purpose is for hanging the model after it had an acetone bath. It helps keep the edges smooth during drying phase. Notes There is a small rectangular cut-out on the lip where your phone sits. If you find that your phone slips too much, fill this cut-out with a bit of hot glue for added friction.
