O Scale 2 Rail FEC Hopper Car

<p>Car sides for a Florida East Coast Railroad 100 Ton Open Aggregate Hopper Car in O Scale 2 Rail. Original rolling stock equipment was manufactured and either sold or leased by the Ortner Freight Car Company. This project speaks to the relatively low cost way to get into O Scale Model Railroading with the idea that kits of the future will be modeled in 3D space and come on a memory chip for practically the price of the filament used in printing the parts.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>The idea for adding the print here was to demonstrate a project and how it evolved to develop a single component for a model through its various version or stages of development. Because there are many subtle variances observable on the prototype hoppers, the FreeCAD project files allows the modeler the flexibility to modify these difference for the particular railroad being modeled and print them. Florida East Coast Hoppers which were the early production equipment is a good starting point and foundation to print these variations on other short or main line railroads.</p>
