Largely reengineered top end on my previous printer the OB1 this new printer uses some of the original parts and extrusions in this new design. The 1.4 features greatly increased build height and now has the same build volume as the Mendel Max with an open front design yet is still 100% printable on an existing reprap printer. The aim here was to make a larger volume printer that did not need specialist parts, laser cutting or CNC machinery to make. The 1.4 designation comes from the new side frames resembling the number '4'. If you have already built the earlier OB1 printer you can reuse a lot of the original plastic parts as well as all of the extrusions although this new printer uses less extrusion and some will require shortening. Full assemble instructions are available on YouTube here: Part 1: youtu.be/WR5EMgwua-Q Part 2: youtu.be/PiuRKRwRDCY Part 3: still being editted part 4: still being editted The x-axis ends and carriage are in beta testing and are due to be completed in the next few days.
