This is no longer being maintained. A newer version is in development. Long-term, this design has had issues with vibration and parts warping. ---- --- Version 2 - Uses the actual tension clip instead of hacking apart a third mirror. --- <h4>Other Parts Needed:</h4> <b>Rearview mirror with lane-keep assist. </b> This should be from a 2013-2019 Ford Explorer, Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, or Lincoln MKT. One can usually be found on eBay for $50-80. Look at the pictures, since some sellers erroneously list the AHB-only mirrors as "With Lanekeeping". It has to look like a camera, with a small (1cm) circular lens. The larger 3cm square lens is the wrong kind, unless you just want auto-highbeam. If it comes with the MKT shroud, better yet. <b>Lincoln MKT Lower Mirror Cover</b> part DE9Z-17D550-AB. <b>[DIY Molex Connectors, 4-pin minimum](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753VW1B4)</b>. Two pins for power, two for network. <b>[APIM Extension Cable. 54-pin](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KYKM5W4)</b>. Not critical, but allows you to avoid cutting into factory wiring. Without it, you'll have to source 12v accessory power and a connection to HS-CAN. <b>Oracal 651 Vinyl, Matte Black</b>. Not critical, but helps create a more OEM appearance. <b>Wire, solder, trim mounting tape, etc. </b> <b>Forscan + ELM327 USB cable</b> ---- <h2>Included Files</h2> Adhesive Pad - the horizontal line should be right at about the headliner level. Body - Attaches to the mirror body Vinyl Template ----- <h2>Basic Instructions with prints</h2> AdhesivePad.stl prints flat-side-down, with supports. Body.stl prints with the 'aluminum mirror body' side down. There's a tiny nub in the middle that's meant to orientate down, I used that to elevate the entire part to reduce corner curling while printing. Take the mirror, near the tension clip are two small holes. Tap these to 6-32. Take the tension clip off the mirror, attach it to body.stl using a 10-32 x 0.75" screw/washer/etc. I only had 1" long and used nuts to 'shorten' it. Attach body.stl to the mirror using the original tension clip screw (+a #10 washer), plus two 6-32 screws. Apply a piece of vinyl to the inside of the windshield. Use double-sided VHB mounting tape to attach AdhesivePad.stl to the vinyl. Ideally use a laserlevel to keep it vertical. The horizontal line should be right at the headliner. More tape is better, but much harder to remove if you need to. I used a long ziptie in a sawing motion to remove the print after testing. Use VinylTemplate.stl to cut the trapezoid in the vinyl. I had the print lined up against the original mounting tab instead of the AdhesivePad.stl. Attach the mirror to the adhesivepad, carefully twisting the body.stl print instead of the main mirror assembly (to reduce stress on the print's attachment). <h2>FORScan Modifications</h2> <b>IPC 720-01-02 xxxx 6Fxx xx</b> (Was 6E: Collision Warning Only) <b>IPC 720-01-03 xxxx x4xx</b> (Was 0) <b>PCSM 730-02-01 xxxx x1xx xxxx</b> (Was 0) ----- <h2>Mirror modification</h2> Since the Flex does not have a Lane-Keep Assist button, I drilled a small hole and used [a small momentary switch](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XT3FLVM) to ground the green/brown wire that indicates if LKA should be enabled.
