Octet Truss Hub

This hub can be used together with some 1/4 inch dowels to create octet truss structures. This is a rhombic dodecahedron with holes in each face. Please note that there are two orientations depending on how you look at this. If you build off the 4-sided point, it will make a vertex of an octahedron. If you build off the 3-sided point, it will make a tetrahedron. As long as all the hubs are oriented in the same direction, it will make an octet truss as you build out. Building tips: Assembly is easiest if you cut your struts 5" or longer. If you have rough edges and the struts aren't fitting well into the hubs, try using a pencil sharpener to make the fit easier. Paint struts before assembly. Rubber bands can help to keep parts together while glue is curing. For best build, precision cuts are important with equal strut lengths.
