After trying several Raspberry Pi 3 cases that didn't work for me, I found one can can be easily removed and requires no screws. This snap-together case worked great. Since it was designed for a 30mm fan, I edited the file in TinkerCAD and made one for a 40mm NOCTUA fan. The fan is mounted on the outside, blowing inward the cool air. The design I remixed is here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4945785 by Airsharkie. NOT SUITABLE FOR RASPBERRY PI 3B+ WITH HEATSINKS. Printed with a Creality Ender 3 V2, using OctoPrint and sliced with Cura.
