These remixes add mounting points to MarkL's excellent pistol grips for the Quest 2 controllers. There are two versions.

Version 1: socket mount

Version 1 is designed for these 12" elastic cinch straps, and should work with any 1"-wide strap that has the same generic plastic buckle. There's a socket on the bottom of the grip, and you plug the buckle into it. Then you just loop the strap around the controller ring.

I've included a socket that you can print to test-fit your straps, so that you don't have to print the whole thing and find it doesn't work.

The main benefit of this design is that the grip and strap can be removed as a single piece. If you regularly switch between different controller adapters, this makes it easy to swap. In addition, the tension from the strap helps prevent the pistol grip from sliding off, which I find happens in games with a lot of swinging (e.g. golf, baseball).

Version 2: strap loop

Version 2 is similar to how most Quest 2 straps work. Wrap the strap around the controller ring and through its cinch buckle, then feed it through the loop in the grip.

This version should work with any 1"-wide strap. My 12" straps are just long enough for my medium-sized hands, so if you have large hands then you might want 16".

The downside is that this version requires a bit more effort to remove the strap, since it's wrapped around the controller ring.

Which one's better?

When using the controllers, here are the differences I notice:

Version 1 pushes my hand toward the base of the grip, and the strap wants to sit on the back of my hand.

Version 2 pushes my hand towards the top of the controller. The strap wants to sit on my knuckles, but can be slid onto the back of my hand. I can also feel the plastic buckle sitting against my index finger (as shown in the last photo), but it doesn't bother me.

I think I like Version 1 better, but that's mostly due to the socket being more interesting/satisfying than the strap loop. If you try these out, I'd love to hear which one you prefer.

Oh yeah, whichever one you choose, make sure that the non-Velcro sides of your straps are soft, so that they don't irritate your hands.
