Oculus Quest 2 Ikea Bergshult Shelf Mount - No Supports

<p>I modified the genious Oculus Quest 2 Wall Mount from Tony Youngblood to be hang from an Ikea Bergshult shelf as I don't like to drill into the wall.</p><p>Quoting from his design:</p><blockquote><p>The lenses face down so dust won't fall on them.</p><p>The controllers hang on the same mounts as the headset.</p><p>Minimalist design. Less plastic. Shorter printing times.</p><p>No supports required.</p></blockquote><p>Well, I might have defeated the “less plastic, shorter print times” aspect.<br>This version is inserted between the wall and the board of the shelf, then secured in place with 2 small clamp blocks.</p><p><strong>Hardware needed</strong></p><ul><li>2x M3 screw, I used 12mm length. You can adjust the length around a bit if you also scale the height of the clamp blocks accordingly.</li><li>4x M5 screw, head not higher than 4mm and length between 8mm and 30mm.</li><li>2x M3 nut</li><li>4x M5 nut inserts as you use them for aluminum extrusion profiles used on a lot of 3D printers. The dimensions should be: 15mm x 10mm x 3mm.</li></ul><p><strong>Printing</strong></p><ul><li>Use the Prusa Project Files as a place to start or the .stl to start from scratch.</li><li>Use the color change funktion in your Slicer to create the color change in the Oculus logo.</li><li>Use the pause at height funktion in your Slicer to inserting the M5 nut inserts in the arms, just before the next layer would close the pocket. Note that you have to pause twice, as the pockets are not in the same height.</li></ul><p><strong>Assembly and Mounting</strong></p><ul><li>Using a sharp knife, open the single layer diaphragm in the 6 holes of the plate. They are a way of printing this without support.</li><li>Screw the arms to the plate.</li><li>Insert the M3 nuts into the plate.</li><li>Slide the plate into place and fix it using the M3 screws and clamp blocks.</li></ul>
