<h1>V4.1 of my Oculus Quest 2 headstrap</h1> **Note:** This is in its own Thing because it is more complicated to make but it is a vastly superior design. The easier to make version can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4656761 - I don't suggest it through unless you're intimidated by assembling the one you're browing right now. **I strongly suggest printing this as well:** https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4623392 It is a headband to relieve the strain put on your head by the middle strap by distributing the weight over a larger area. I personally padded the headband with kitchen sponges, and that, this strap and a power bank as a counter weight means I barely feel the headset anymore. The biggest factor of discofort now is sweat or if my lenses fog up **<h2>Changelog: </h2>** **4.0 -> 4.1: ** The skullcup now has two sets of hoops instead of one, allowing for more freedom to mount power banks or whatever else you want ___________ This strap more closely <strike>rips off</strike>mimicks the official Elite Strap. This is intended for use with 25mm elastic bands on the speaker caps. The gear rack parts need to be printed in nylon or similar firm but flexible filament. ABS may work but I haven't tested it. PETG could also be an option, but again, untested. **NOTE:** I added a threaded version of KnobAxle and a version for a heat insert. The heat insert version is probably more durable, but it requires you to have quality inserts that work well. **You will need the following hardware: ** - 4x countersunk M3 bolts. At least M3x10, but M3x15 is better - 1x M3x5 bolt(for the central axle to keep it from falling out) - M3 Nyloc bolts - 1x 4mm OD compression spring - 1x 3.92 bearing ball(they're in skateboard bearings, the ones named 608zz) - Some superglue or epoxy glue to glue the knob on the gear axle - Two pieces of 25mm elastic band to mount to the speaker caps and the gear rack parts - Velcro to make the top strap(or you can re-use the default one if you don't mind that) - A way to join the elastic and velcro together. I opted for sewing, but do it however you want - Optional but HIGHLY! recommended: A counterweight of some sort. Shoot for around 350g or so to balance out the weight of the headset. A power bank is highly suited. I added anchors to ziptie a power bank onto the skull cup
