I suck at modeling but my desperation to find a way to keep the sweet Rift S HMD but ditch the hallo forced me to come up with this proof of concept mod. Maybe someone with decent modeling skills can make a better version but it at least it works. To use it, detach the halo from the Rift S and reuse the top strap on this bracket. For the horizontal strap, I used an old Samsung Gear VR strap but I suppose any velcro would work. The bracket then slides over the front of the HMD. I used a zip tie to attach the cable along the back strap. For audio, you'll need a 2.5mm jack for the top plug on the Rift S HMD or a 3.5 mm right angle jack adaptor for the side (so the strap doesn't hit it). In case you're wondering, the old Rift CV1 weighs 496 grams on my scale and this mod weighs 477 grams. Note: I added longer versions of the strap connectors to make positioning more rigid (similar to the original Rift headset) and made an audio passthrough hole for an earphone plug.
