Oculus Touch Adjustable Gunstock

A customizable gunstock for Oculus Touch controllers. I felt that the previously available offerings, such as the protubeVR, 3D-printable rail-stock, or the PVC pipe stocks were all either too expensive for the commercial ones, or not good enough for me personally. So I decided to design my own stock, a better alternative. I decided to make it flexible to many use cases by making it adjustable. Comfort was also a design priority. I hope my mechanical engineering experience shows in the final product. Controller mounting has taken inspiration from MagStock by PunkByddy89. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2650049 his stock can be fitted to many different forms in a matter of seconds, without tools: Sniper rifle? You got it. P90? No problem. Assault rifle? pfft, not even a question. It can even be used as a pump action shotgun, with real pump action. (Caution: The selfie stick front hinge may need reinforcing) It has various adjustments: Length (by using a selfie stick as the frame) Buttstock height & angle Front controller angle (roll, yaw & pitch) Rear controller roll & pitch Rear controller is inserted into a holder by a dlight twisting movement, put the grip button side in first. This design eliminates annoying thick cups that make your hand hurt after a while. Rear handle consists of only the comfortsble touch controller. Front controller stays in your left hand at all times, and is inserted into a holder. This makes reloading and other tasks easy. Part is designed to be thin and comfortable. You can add more comfort by lining the plastic with sugru. The buttstock part is designed to be comfortable, and it integrates a cheek rest as well. Front controller distance can be adjusted by just moving your hand back and forth, the selfie stick telescopic action is perfect for this. Force needed is just right, not too little and not too much. It's very easy to adjust to different games and weapons, but stays in it's place during action. The hinges rely on friction, so nylock nuts must be used. The hinge screws should be tightened just enough so the parts stay in place at normal use, but they can be rotated using both hands. I fitted my buttstock height adjustment with a thumbscrew, so it can easily be adjusted as well during action. All 6 parts needed to be printed once. I made a few changes after printing mine. -removed sling mounts, badly positioned and sling was just a nuisance -added more clearance for nuts and screw holes Other parts needed: 1pcs Selfie stick, with ~16mm diameter outer tube. (may need to remove handle rubber, button, cord & end plug) 2pcs m3x12 screws 3pcs m5x20 screws (Longer screws can be used, the ends just protrude more out then) 2pcs m3 nuts 3pcs m5 Nylock nuts washers, + preferably star washers for the 2 hinges 1pcs 1/4" nut for the front handle (standard camera screw in selfie sticks, other option is to disassemble selfie stick, and put a screw into front handle nut hole, and a nut between the selfie stick parts. A little tricky to assemble but that´s how I did it, see picture) Buttstock M5 screw can be replaced with a thumbscrew to allow tool-free adjusting Currently I have only modeled right-handed versions. Only downside after months of use is, that you will have to throw grenades with your left hand.
