<p>It was a challenge when we bought the fancy new head unit with the ten inch screen to make it look as though it belonged, and even more so to make it easy to install. &nbsp;It looked exactly as it was, a big screen stuck in front of the dashboard, and the sun reflected off it through the windscreen. &nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>The result is &nbsp;respectful of the original interior and provides just enough shade to keep reflections off the screen.</p><p>Installation is simple, by building it in two pieces which slide in from either side and are held in place with 10mm x 2mm magnets recessed into the meeting faces. &nbsp; This also simplified the printing allowing minimal support and no significant cleanup on any of the visible faces.</p><p>Initial setup of the head unit is done without the frame and final adjustment can be done by simply sliding each side into position while securing the opposite side.</p><p>The unit is a neat fit and in normal urban operation should not require the small cover strips which are glued in place on one side part only. &nbsp;It looks more like a standard interior component without them, but we use our vehicle over very rough roads, and they were a compromise to ensure the two halves did not become misaligned in those conditions.<br><br>Because this is an under-windscreen part, and we live in Australia, to hold up to heat in the long term, &nbsp;it's printed in ASA, sanded, filled and painted. &nbsp;It should be noted that our trial parts were printed in PETG and after one month in summer had shown no sign of deterioration, but I don't think that is a reasonable long term expectation.</p>
