Offset Attenuator Case KC9ON

Simple enclosure for KC9ON's offset attenuator PCBA. There are two type covers. One is LED through hole and the other leaves a small amount of plastic to help attenuate the bright LED. Your PETG color will affect the light brightness as well. Another way to change the LED brightness is to swap out the current limiting resistor on the PCBA to a different value. But, this will require soldering and buying a different surface mount resistor. Per John KC9ON, currently, the resistor is 2.2K. Try 4.4K or 10K ohm resistor to make the LED dimmer. This attenuator is used in conjunction with a radio receiver and antenna for amateur radio transmitter hunting. For more information, Joe Moell KØOV http://homingin.com/ This attenuator mixes in a 4MHz signal. The harmonics result in an attenuated signal. As you get closer to the transmitter you need to attenuate the RF signal or your receiver may saturate. More details on John's website. https://kc9on.com/
