Old Fashioned Analog Meter

The Chronulator is a kit from SharedBrain. It displays the time on two analog current meters. I wanted to build the Chronulator to look like an old fashioned lab instrument. To do this I replaced the original clear plastic meters covers with covers I made on my ToM. The case was made from Red Oak. The scale was modified to show hour and minute. Instructions Print covers. Wet sand with 400 grit wet or dry sandpaper to clean-up lines from ToM extruder and polish with plastic polish. Windows were cut from 1/16" polycarbonate, but acrylic would work fine. The fit may be to tight at first. Scrape inside surfaces with a knife until the cover snaps into place. To modify the scales, start by printing out the PDF, or use the Corel Draw file. Carefully remove the aluminum scale. Glue the new image on the back of the original scale. Trim and reinstall the scale.
