Omnidirectional Magnetic Flashlight Holder

This is a flashlight stand that I developed that can be used to position the flashlight beam just about anywhere while staying stable. It can be used with just about any cylindrical tactical style flashlight that is about 1 inch (25 mm) in diameter. The one shown in the pictures is a Wuben model C3 flashlight. The stand consists of a collar that has two magnets and attached to the flashlight. The stand has two magnets at the pivot point that attaches to the collar. This allows the flashlight to pivot 360 degrees and detach from the stand if you just want to use the flashlight with your hands. When detached the collar can still be attached magnetically to any ferrous metal surface. The base of the stand has a large magnet that allows it to be mounted on a metal surface. When used together the flashlight beam can be directed and positioned in just about any location you need it. You can also attach the stand to the optional keychain endcap so you can attach to your belt loop or hang from a hook. Another option is to attach it to a belt clip as shown in one of the pictures. I have included a parts list that is primarily sourced through McMaster Carr however the parts can be acquired from wherever you like. You will need to glue the magnets in place using epoxy. I use JB Weld clear quick setting epoxy and it works great. Make sure to roughen and clean the surfaces and allow full cure before using. Also make sure to check the magnet polarity on the collar and stand before gluing. You want them to attract each other. Best to check before you find out they oppose each other. The stand that I am using is designed for the Wuben C3. It has a length of about 4.8 inches and a collar diameter of about .95 inches. It does not have a larger head or end cap area. I will need to know the dimensions that are shown on the assembly drawing under custom stand dimension requirements. The stand for the Wuben C3 I am calling model 122-24-00-00 so this is the zip file that you will download for this model. Future custom models will have different model numbers. See assembly drawing for assembly. When assembling the stand to the stand end place glue at the bottom of the stand end, slide in the two stand pieces, place more glue in the magnet area of the stand end and then place magnet in the stand end.
