One Handed Bottle Opener

The One-Handed bottle opener is a concept that will allow anyone with a functioning hand to open a bottle with a cap. The regular bottle opener requires you to hold the bottle with one hand and then open it with another. However, this isn't always an option for people who might have lost a hand, arm or have something occupying their other hand. The one-handed bottle opener is efficient as it is being designed on a CAD program (Autodesk Inventor) that makes it simple and quick to produce products using FDM 3D printing. The (Dremmel) printer uses PLA plastics and prints layer by layer creating the end product, allowing for the product to be made without the hassle of creating a mold for injection molding and saves the producer time because they are able to make quick changes and save money while doing so. This new and innovative technology allows making quick prototypes very efficient and beneficial to the design process. The bottle opener needs a redesign as it excludes people with certain disabilities and makes the bottle opening experience much more efficient as it allows for the user to free up their other hand and allow them to open bottles that would otherwise not be able to be opened.
