Online School Desk Organizer

The design that I came up with was a document holder which is divided into five sections that would allow a student enrolled in five classes to neatly organize their work. Each slot in the filer is 1.5 inches wide, 11 inches long, and 8 inches deep which will place the documents at half an inch taller than the filer itself for easy access. It also has a pencil and pen holder connected to it that has a radius of 5 inches and a depth of 4 inches. The shorter depth allows for easy access to the pens or pencils without having to dig deep into a bag or pencil case. One issue that arose while creating the project would happen when attempting to build the finished product as one part. It was complicated to design everything under one file at first because there were many parts and components that needed to be set into place. To get around this issue, each component was created under a different file then added together in a parts assembly file. If a redesign was necessary, one thing that would change would be the aesthetics of the project itself. If there was a way to make it more pleasing to the eye and compact for a smaller desk, it would be more ideal and easier to sell to students or even offices. 3D printing would help my design by initially helping me. With the ability to use a 3D printer, I would be able to learn more about it and understand the capabilities of the printer and use this to my benefit for future prints. Currently I have no experience with a printer, but hope to get access to one soon which will allow me to expand my horizons and understand more about what aspects to look for while creating a file to print.
