Check back soon or email info@oarkit.org to be informed about when this is ready! : A high mobility six-wheel-drive robot platform, designed for Dynamixel AX-12A smart servos. Multiple degrees of freedom, provided by independently actuated wheels, active suspension and steerable front and rear axles provide options for interesting mobility over rough and loose terrain. This design can be controlled by the associated 1DOF and 2DOF joysticks and can carry the 5DOF robot arm. For code to drive this robot, please see the files for the 5DOF robot arm. This is the first design in the Open Academic Robot Kit, a family of robot designs designed to lower the barrier of entry to interesting robotics. All of the designs consist of parts that can either be 3D printed using a low cost FDM printer, or obtained off-the-shelf (or via mail order from various sources) around the world. All designs are released under CC(BY-SA). Software necessary to demonstrate the robot's basic capabilities is also open source.
