This is an open source armory system. It uses off the shelf louvered panels with 3d printed components to build an armory storage solution of your dreams. It be scaled from a single panel to a complete room. It is a strong and secure mounting system that is fully customizable. Get the professional looking solution to your firearm storage needs at a fraction of the price of other systems. No more buying into other systems that are so universal, that they fit nothing correctly. No more starter packs that half the components are useless for your needs. At the heart of Open Armory is the louvered panel. The QUANTUM STORAGE SYSTEMS QLP-1819 is the standard panel. It is 18" wide by 19" tall. There are other panels of different sizes that are still compatible. The QLP-1819 is the best best choice as larger panels are more expensive per square inch. The louvered panels are originally designed to hold akro-mills style storage bins. The harbor freight ones work as well. Bins can be placed wherever need to store additional firearm parts or accessories. To install the panels I used #8 1-1/4" drywall screws. I have included a 3d printable washer to cover the slotted holes. Pan head screws could be used also, but drywall or construction screws are usually more available. For install the panels it is recommended to have 3/4" plywood behind it. Use what you can find locally. If it is a couple 1/32" bigger or smaller it will still be ok. Once the plywood is installed make a level line on the bottom edge where the panels are going to be installed. Place the first panel on the line and snug 1 screw into one of the bottom corner holes. Snug up a second screw into the opposite bottom corner. If the panel moved from the line lossen up the screw and adjust. Then snug up one screw in the center hole one row down from the bottom. Now that the starting panel is installed move vertically across the bottom line. Continue vertically until all panels are installed. Make sure all panels just butt up to each other and are not overlapping, if so lossen the screws and adjust untill everything looks perfect. Once everything is lined up the remaining screws can be inserted. Open Armory can also be mounted into existing firearm safes. You put your firearms to home in a safe, why not make it a custom fitted home. There is a lot more coming. Many mounts are being printed right now and going through prototyping that are almost ready to release. Some more universal firearm mounts will be next. Then some mounts for firearms that are common. Then some custom mounts that few would need, but I'm making them so might as well share them. Some reloading storage solutions will be coming soon. Experimenting with dual extrusion printing to have as softer tpu layer in between the mount an the firearm. Possibly some silicone molds for those who can't print with dual extrusion or tpu. Later on down the road Open Armory is great for firearm storage, but it will be used for so much more. Some of my previous makes will be updated to work with Open Armory. There will be some releases for tool storage. Some will be universal, with other specific for my needs. The Community! There are a lot of good mounting solutions on thingiverse already. Some are for pegboard or other mounting solutions, but worse yet are some great designs that require drilling into walls for every single mount. With the community's help we can create some custom mounting solutions that will work for everyone. Try to remember when you make a custom mount, there is probably someone else who could use that same mount, so Please share it with everyone! With a little work in tinkercad or 3d builder a custom mounting solution can be easily achieved. I invite everyone to help design for and help Open Armory grow. Your imagination is the next step in Open Armory! rifle_stand.stl was remixed from marigu https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3423261 ar_pmag_holder.stl was remixed from jasonm621 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1547824 wood_screw_washer.stl was remixed from Lee ya https://grabcad.com/library/wood-screw-hexagon-socket-button-1 louvered_mount.stl is for mounting Open Armory mounts in one off locations, where you don't want to mount a full panel. There is a hole in the center for installing a 8x2mm magnet. This allows the base denial block to be used. Pause the print just before the layer covering the hole starts and drop a magnet in. There is a glue version with a hole through the back side for gluing the magnet in after printing. Make sure the magnet's polarity is the same as the same as the base denial block. The mounts rifle stands rifle_stand is a universal rifle stand. It will hold hold pretty much everything from antique muzzleloaders, hunting rifles, ar-15's even a m249. There are 2 holes for installing a bungee cord. It isn't necessary but makes sure the rifle is securely in the mount. I use 1/8" but bigger or smaller can be used. I use about a 2' piece of bungee cord. To install the bungee cord insert into the 2 bottom holes, then install the toggle and ball, and tie a knot at the end. Once the rifle is inserted into the stand lift the cord over the barrel. Then hold onto the ball while tightening the toggle against the rifle. It doesn't need to be tight, just enough that it stays in place. rifle_stand_compact is a version of the universal rifle stand without the longer ears. It uses less plastic, prints faster, but is still a great choice for most rifles. rifle_stand_open_bolt is a version of the universal rifle stand that hold the barrel farther away from the wall. It allows bolt action rifles to be stored with the bolt in the open position. This allows rifles to be placed closer together without the bolt hitting another rifle. rifle_stand_traditional is a universal rifle stand with a traditional style profile. rifle_stand_scoped is a universal rifle stand for rifles with scopes. It is also for Heckler and Koch rifles. rifle_stand_870 is a stand for a Remington 870 rifle_stand_mp40_bottom is a stand for holding a mp40. A version with a single line extrusion is included. Supports are needed to print. rifle_stand_mp40_top is a stand for holding a mp40 behind the barren nut. With the bottom stand a mp40 is able to be mounted on a single 18x19 panel. rifle_stand_m2_Carl_Gustaf is for holding a m2 Carl Gustaf 84mm recoilless rifle. stock holders stock_holder is an universal rifle stock holder. It allows a rifle to be hanged vertically anywhere on a louvered panel. It is easily able to support a 10 pound rifle. A shoe can be inserted and tightened down for a perfect fit for almost any rifle. A 1/4"-20 by 3" carriage bolt and nut are needed for each shoe. The 1/4" nut can be glued into stock_holder_nut but it isn't necessary. stock_holder_split is the universal stock holder that has been split for smaller printers. 2 stock_holder_pegs are needed. They are glued into stock_holder_front and stock_holder_back with either super glue or epoxy. mag holders mag_holder_ar_pmag is for holding .223 sized pmags. Hk93 pmags will fit. .223 pmags for other rifles should fit too. mag_holder_glock is for holding 9mm sized glock mags. .40s&w and .357 sig mags will also fit. mag_holder_mp40 is for holding mp40 mags. It will also hold mags from a MGC68 and Vigneron. mag_holder_mp41 is for holding Marushin mp41 mags. mag_holder_thompson is for holding thompson .45 stick mags. mag_holder_thompson_drum is for holding Thompson .45 50 round drum mags. mag_holder_stg44 is for holding mags for STG44 style rifles. It will hold GSG, Shoei, and Matrix/AGM mags. bayonet holders bayonet_holder_cetme is for holding bayonets for cetme rifles. bayonet_holder_hk is for holding bayonets for hk rifles. bayonet_holder_mauser is for holding bayonets for mauser rifles. ammo holders ammo_holder_m72_law_subcal is for holding 35mm M190 subcaliber rockets for the M72 law rocket launcher. ammo_holder_m72_law is a holder for 66mm rockets for the m72 law. ammo_holder_84mm_Carl_Gustaf is a holder for 84mm recoilless rifle shells for a Carl Gustaf or an AT4. ammo_holder_m31_rifle_grenade is a holder for m31 practice rifle grenades. ammo_holder_m67_grenade is a folder for m67 practice grenades. rifle hangers rifle_hanger is version of the universal rifle stand. rifle_hanger_v has a v shaped cutout. rifle_hanger_c has a cupped cutout. rifle_hanger_stg44 is a hanger for holding a MKB42, MP43, MP44, or STG44 style rifle. Real, airsoft, or dummy versions should all work the same. These will need to be printed with supports. pistol holders pistol_holder_glock_19 is a holder for a Glock 19. It will also hold other Glocks based on the 19 sided frame. Install the bungee with the two ends down in the holes. To insert the Glock pull on the bungee loop and slide it over the beaver tail. Then pull back on the Glock and rotate the barrel up into the mount. Pull the bungee ends down and pull the toggle tight to the mount. The top of the mount will keep the barrel from lifting up if the bungee is loose, but when tight the bungee will keep the Glock in place. To quickly remove the Glock grab the grip and pull back until the barrel reaches the opening of the mount. Then rotate the barrel down and the bungee will side over the beaver tail. pistol_holder_glock_17 is a holder for a Glock 17. It will also hold other Glocks based on the 17 sided frame. pistol_holder_walther_p38 is a holder for a Walther p38. It will also work with a Walther P1. It will only hold a standard length barrel. pistol_holder_peg is a universal pistol holder. Cut a 5" piece of 3/16" or 5mm round bar and epoxy it to the hex hole on the top of the mount. There are 2 hex holes for a bungee cord. base denial base_denial is a blocking piece that fits inside the cutout of the slots. It keeps the mounts with bungees from moving upwards when the bungee is pulled. It uses a 8x2mm magnet. With base_denial.stl the print must be paused before the magnet hole is covered. Insert the magnet and continue the print. With base_denial_glue.stl the magnet can be glued in from the bottom after printing.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D9RXPHP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.harborfreight.com/10-piece-rare-earth-magnets-67488.html
