This barbell is a combination of metal and 3D printed parts. No machining required, only cutting and sanding. Barbell is 7 feet (84 inches) long with 16 inch weight sections. Grip is standard at 28.5mm Barbell works with Olympic weights with 2 inch center holes. Weight is 30 lbs. Order the following: (QTY 1) 7ft cold drawn steel bar 1-1/8in diameter from local metal supplier ($65) (QTY 1) 3ft Low-Carbon Steel Round Tube, 0.12in Wall Thickness, 2in OD McMaster P/N 7767T54 ($27.78) (QTY 4) Clamping Shaft Collar McMaster P/N 6435K19 ($3.77) Total Parts Cost: $108 Directions: Cut the 3ft 2" tube into 16" sections. Clean the metal with degreaser, and sand with 220 grit sandpaper to remove sharps. 3D print the bushings (QTY 2) inside, (QTY 2) outside. PETG or ABS are a good materials. 30% infill, 0.2mm layer height. Assemble and use a 3/16 allen wrench to tighten shaft collars. Wrap sports tape around the bar to increase grip.
