**THIS IS NOT A FINAL PRODUCT, YOU SHOULD POST PROCESS AND SEAL THE MASK IN ORDER TO USE PROPERLY.** I have modified this with an easier to print screw ring with nubs for easy grasping and have uploaded 2 versions of the screw ring and insert one is scaled down to 99% so if the full size one is too tight the scaled down version should fit easier. **ABOUT THIS REMIX (Information copied from the original)** This innovation is inspired by the scarcest product these days, the famous and scarce N95 masks. Basically, there is a breakdown in the global stock of this product, and it is a basic necessity, especially for Healthcare personnel who are at the forefront of fighting this disease. In many countries the authorities have also recommended the use of these masks (or similar) on public transport. These masks, despite being effective, also have some problems such as a short lifecycle (about 8 hours), and have another even more serious problem. Respiratory viruses, specifically SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19) can live up to 72 hours on different surfaces. This is a problem since using a conventional mask, at the end of the day we would have a high viral/bacterial load trapped within millimeters of our nose and mouth, further exposing ourselves to these dangerous microbes. NanoHack Mask is a last resort device with the purpose of offering protection from airborne particles and prevent spreading liquid contaminating the airways. Published data1 has shown that the filtration materials used by NanoHack (polypropylene, the same material used in surgical masks) achieves a filtration efficiency of 96.4% for microorganisms of 1 micron and 89.5% for microorganisms of 0.02 microns. This project was created by the team at http://copper3d.com/ I am uploading here as its not available on Thingiverse yet. If Copper3D does upload it, i will graciously remove this one. **THE OPEN SOURCE RESPIRATOR MASK** ANTIMICROBIAL/ANTIVIRAL Manufactured with PLACTIVE® an innovative Nanocomposite developed with a high quality PLA and a patented, scientifically validated and highly effective Nano-Copper additive. **FLAT PATTERN** Facilitate manufacturing and transportation with massive shippings all over the world and to rural settings. **THERMOFORMING CAPABILITIES** At 55º - 60º C to allow the use of hair dryers or warm water to give the correct shape of the anatomy of any face. **REUSABLE & RECYCLABLE** You can use this mask any times you want. The increasing use of single-used surgical masks and N95 respirators will have a detrimental effect in the ecosystem. To prevent this detrimental effect in our environment, NanoHack will be made with recyclable material. **MODULAR FILTRATION SYSTEM** NanoHack will incorporate a novel modular fine particle filtration system manufactured with a material using copper nanocomposite proven to deactivate viruses. This novel filtration system includes a several layers with different geometries to provide an effective fine particle filtration. Furthermore, this system can house third party filtration materials, such as non-woven propylene, clothing, sponges, or textiles. **CONTROL OF THE FILTRATION AND AIR INTAKE** Prolong use of N95 respirators have shown to reduce lung capacity. These single-use respirators do not allow the regulation of air intake or particle size. NanoHack incorporates a modular filtration disc that can effectively regulate the air intake and the particle size. This system that can be customized by using third party filtration non-woven propylene, clothes, sponges, and different textiles to reduce the level of filtration. **PRINT SETTINGS** 3D Printing Specifications Our printing specifications will result in fused layers, Stopping even water molecules that are 0.000282 µm. In general, The minimum wall thickness that we recommend is 1.7 mm. This minimum wall thickness will result in three extrusions side by side producing a double seal. In addition, we recommend adjusting the slicer settings over extrude. By decreasing the print speed and increasing the extrusion multiplier. The specific settings for the slicer software are as follows.. **Layers** - Layer height: .2mm. - First layer height: 0.25mm. - Perimeters: 2. - Avoid crossing perimeters: X. - Eternal Perimeters first: X. - Start end overlap: 140%. - Merge overlapping lines: X. - Expand thin walls: X. - Top solid layers: 9. - Bottom solid layers: 9. - Infill Fill density: 100%. - Infill type: lines. - Starting angle: 0. - Infill overlap: 0.9mm. - Fill thin gaps: X. - Speed infill: 20mm/s. - Top solid infill: 20mm/s. - Raft: 100%. - Inside perimeters: 20mm/s. - Outside perimeters: 20mm/s. - Support material: 20mm/s. - Bridges: 25mm/s. - Travel: 130mm/s. - First layer speed: 20mm/s. **Filament** - PLACTIVETM: 1.75mm **Temperatures** - Extruder temperature: 233°C. - Extruder wipe temperature: 0°C. **Retraction** - Speed: 70mm/s. **Extrusion** - Extrusion multiplier: 1.5. - First layer: 160%. - Outside perimeters: 160%. **ASSEMBLY** - Heat the NanoHack to 55º-60º C with a hairdryer or hot water. The circular part has to be intact, that's why it's thicker so that it doesn't deform. - When softening, bring together the nose wings and adjustment wings located on the lower jaw. You can glue them to fix them better if you want. - Heat it up again and put it on your face for final adjustments. Make sure it's not too hot! If you feel that there is some part of the mask that does not fit well or is too tight, you can put a small piece of soft rubber in the contact areas. - Screw the "cover" on with one or two additional filters. If you use a filter, you can use a circular piece (single or double) of a conventional mask (non-woven propylene) or add a round facial cotton pad for makeup. Half pad can make breathing easier. - Add the elastics/straps.
