--PLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED DATASHEET FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION-- Description: The project is an Open-Source Touchless Hand Sanitizer. It can be deployed inside or outside a house/apartment so people can disinfect themselves properly before entering their house. It is also: -Low-Cost. -Open Source (schematics on electrical and mechanical designs will be made available free of charge to everyone). -Re-loadable using water-alcohol solutions. No need to buy specific gel solutions from distributors (in the event of a shortage). -Wired (required to be plugged into an outlet). This will avoid increasing the cost for batteries and extra circuitry. These attributes will help make this project widely available for practical use in the event of a shortage, as well as being affordable. Some recommendations: -Costs estimates of all parts are included. A cheaper (and fully functional) version made of recycled cardboard material is included. See the attached data sheet. -If you are making the container out of PLA, it is recommended to water-proof it, since PLA absorbs water over time. -As previously mentioned, due to the nature of the project (economical, non-complex), the touchless sensor is very sensitive to background infrared radiation. As such, it is recommended that the user installs the unit in cool shaded areas. Special Thanks: This project was created thanks to the funding provided by TakingITGlobal (TIG). TIG is one of the world's leading networks of young people learning about, engaging with, and working towards tackling global challenges. To learn more about their vision and mission, visit their website at https://www.tigweb.org/about/ Further development is highly encouraged to help make this project more economical and practical. Hobbyists are encouraged to submit improved versions of this design. Thank you!
