The opensource multipurpose hexagonal grid wargaming terrain project is OFFICIALLY back, with yet another upgrade. Note: Original project and concept by Garagebay9. Any files marked GB9 OFA are his original files, reuploaded after a DCMA. Included in this filepack are: Original Open Warhex Project by Garagebay9 Open Warhex: Baseplates by Garagebay9 Open Warhex Boosterpack 1 for Mechanized Combat by SniperTeamTango Open Warhex Boosterpack 2 for Mechanized Combat by SniperTeamTango Open Warhex Boosterpack 3 for Mechanized Combat by SniperTeamTango *New* Included file types and terrain: Baseplates and hills from the original project. Water in 2 different systems, with 3 and 5 elevations respectively. 4 types of trees: light and heavy woods, and jungle. Several "effects" such as rough, smoke, rubble, fire, etc. Bridge detailing. Additionally there are 2 different structure systems included, one optimized for SLA printing, which features a sleek, minimalist design, and another (R2) which is more rugged and designed for heavy use supporting weight and increased durability. Features include: Hex geometry compatible bases Corners which can accept wall sections at 12 different angles, simultaneously. Multiple lengths of walls in 3 different elevations and connecting pieces where appropriate. Roof and bridge sections, which result in hex geometry to put more rings or other features on. R3: Heavy duty bridge starters for R2 system, and bridge span support sections, which boast improved weight and stress support by up to 30%. R3: Corner rounders for R2 structure base. R1 structure system not recommended for use with metal miniatures. Also new in this file is a modified module ring, designed to fit inside the original hill files by Garagebay, and provide the snap fit tolerance fans have come to expect from the system, without modifying the original files. Also included is a gluing jig assembly, compliant for gluing module rings, old or new, to the bottoms of existing hill parts, to provide a stable, snap fit setup for hill stacks. And the final addition, a modified, updated variation of the module ring, which produces a flat with holes 1.75" hex, perfect for installing on the bottom of your favorite 3d terrain, such as the excellent work from Thunderhead Studios and Steel Warrior Studios. Simply print this part, and affix to the bottom using either small screws or adhesives of your own choice. This project is fully compliant with other 3d terrain for 6mm wargames. This project was completed in Solidworks and Catia 2016, original files available for modification upon request. Fitment issues should be reported for further updates.
