OpenSCAD Gerotor

OpenSCAD Gerotor

thingiverse

Recent developments in OpenSCAD have made it possible to make arbitrary, programmatic polygons. In the past, you had to kludge this with boolean unions of many 3d volumes, but now you can do this in a recursive loop. This makes things which used to be painful, simple; things which used to take minutes to render, fast enough to animate. So here, have a mathematically-modelled gerotor. Instructions You will need an extremely recent version of openscad to use this. I use 2014-04-10 experimental. You will need to edit -> preferences -> features, check 'concat', to allow OpenSCAD to build arrays in runtime.
