This is the first part of a 3d printable lathe. All the sources will be available to download and modify, I will appreciate that any modifications to be made publicly available so other people may use this also. Simple Base: https://a360.co/2R19076 Dremel Base: https://a360.co/2NNMg8w Tailstock: https://a360.co/2OQ1Ohw (7h 52min @0.2mm 50speed 30%infill) The distances are taken from this project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:953820 So you can reuse parts of the original project. - One dremel (it's the one tool needed by all DIY-ers ;) ) - The first part will contain 4prints: 3bases and 1dremel base, so that we can drill rods necessary for the second part of this project. - 2x 608 Bearings - Lots of M8 Washers and Nuts - 2x Ø8mm Threaded Rods - 1x Ø8mm Stainless Steel Round Bar Rod - 1x tungsten carbide drill bit - M3 screws and nuts - Some wooden stand or something to use as a stable base and some wood screws Edit v1.1 - counterbore holes for M3 nuts (and some reinforcements) for clamping 8mm smooth rod. - Added 2 more walls for even more structural strength. Addition v1.2 - Finally the Tailstock is here :) - Can be used with a variety of options: - https://www.banggood.com/3D-Printer-T8-12481214mm-400mm-Lead-Screw-8mm-Thread-With-Copper-Nut-For-Stepper-Motor-p-1112700.html - https://www.banggood.com/T8-100200300400600mm-8mm-Lead-Screw-with-Anti-Backlash-Nut-p-1120209.html - 1x https://www.banggood.com/Adjustable-Double-Bearing-Live-Center-Revolving-Center-For-Lathe-Machine-Accessories-p-1325760.html (or 2x https://www.banggood.com/SK8101216-Linear-Rail-Shaft-Support-XYZ-Table-CNC-Router-p-984131.html + 1x https://www.banggood.com/2-13mm-Keyless-Drill-ChuckSDS-Tool-Adaptor-p-1098433.html) - 4x https://www.banggood.com/SC8UU-8mm-Aluminum-Linear-Motion-Ball-Bearing-Slide-Bushing-For-CNC-p-935967.html Edit v1.3 - Enlarged the bearing holes to allow M4 screws. Edit v1.4 - Closer tolerances on M8 nuts - 1mm Fillet on edges Addition v1.5 - Headstock preliminary design, it will use a T5 timing belt with 2 pulleys. First I will test 10teeth and 40teeth for a ratio of 4:1. Stay tuned: a gearbox using T5 belt is in the works. I am also thinking about a threading option.
