Optic Protector for Red Dot / Reflex Sight (AIRSOFT)

Designed this Sight/Scope/Optic Protector after having a dozen or so store bought ones crack or get shot out completely during CQB matches. The shield on this is mounted at a 14 degree angle to deflect rounds rather than stop them, to reduce the risk of snagging on slings and gear, to reduce reflection in night games, and because it matches the angle on most Reflex Sights which makes an otherwise ugly-but-necessary accessory look slightly more at home on your rail. In addition to the 3 pieces to be printed, you will need 2 m3x15mm bolts or similar, a ~50x55mm 1/16" thick piece of clear polycarbonate, and a particular type of rail 'sling' mount. More info on each below. The two M3 bolts thread into the 'back' part of this kit and clamp the mid, shield, and front pieces onto the sling mount. The bolts may need to be longer if you are using a thicker material for your shield. You can add a pair of M3 nuts on the back if desired / if using longer bolts but I haven't had issues running without them. I highly recommend using 1/16" polycarbonate as the shield material for this mount - Acrylic or Plexiglass will crack from a direct hit, polycarbonate wont. You can find sheets of polycarbonate on eBay and Amazon by searching for "polycarbonate sheet 1/16 clear." You will need to cut and drill the material to the desired shape. The 'sling mount' this kit is designed for can be found on Amazon or eBay by searching for "picatinny weaver rail sling adapter" and finding one that matches the images above. Recommended printing at 0.2mm layer height, 0.8mm shell thickness, and 40% infill.
