Optimized Tesla Valve (parametric)

Optimized Tesla Valve (parametric)

Uncovering another Tesla valve, I was convinced that this concept could be applied in 3D. Subsequently, I found an enhanced, symmetrical design of a Tesla microvalve at senlin41.org/topology-optimization-of-tesla-type-microvalve/. This optimized version was then translated into OpenSCAD for printable purposes, with support features to prevent overhang and flying parts. The model can be customized by adjusting parameters such as rotational extrusion fineness ($fn=32) and support bridge distance. However, it's essential to test and print the design before use. The scad file comprises three sections: tube (a cylinder with matching dimensions), negative_space (subtracted from a tube to create the valve), and positive_space (bridges and islands within negative space). Additional bridging on the "bullet" side may enhance stability and cope with vibrations.
