Your Wild World's next animal is the majestic orangutan. They might not move in a very majestic way on the ground, but they are truly amazing animals. Orangutans share 97% of their genetic make up with humans. They are more like our furry cousins then strange beasts. They have an incredible intelligence and amazing personalities. It is said that if you give an orangutan an candy bar, they will brake it in half and give you the rest back. Not only are these animals an awesome spectacle of nature, but sadly they are growing more scarce in the wild. We also made this print to raise awareness of the diminishing orangutan population. They are very likely to be the next great ape to go extinct. It is important to we do what we can to help this species survive. Any thing you can do to avoid rain-forest products will be much appreciated by orangutans everywhere. Here are a couple very cool videos we stumbled across about orangutans. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did. Very cool orangutan rehabilitation video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oir_PSJpbAA The DIY orangutans (any maker should really enjoy this):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFACrIx5SZ0 Cool video about two friends (an orangutan and a dog):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDStH49W5Hk We are only using these videos to raise awareness for orangutans, and in no way are they our videos. Instructions For single extruders: Download the orangutan_single_extruder.stl file.We used 10% infill. 2 shells, and we do recommend a raft and supports just for the very bottom. The exterior supports option in Replicator G worked very well. It is very possible you can get away with print without supports too. For dual extruders: Download and merge the orangutan_and_nose.stl file and the mouth_and_eyes.stl file. We used 10% infill, 2 shells, and merge and sliced with Replicator G. We used exterior support and a raft on the extruder printing the orangutan_and_nose.stl file, and no supports or raft on the mouth_and_eyes.stl file.
