This is a mount that I created to install the Orbiter V2.0 direct drive extruder on my SeeMeCNC Rostock Max V2. I had been using the Orbiter V1.5 extruder and really like the control that came from having direct drive extruder, but the mount was not optimal due to the size of the extruder. The new size of the Orbiter V2.0 fixes the non-optimal mounting and creates a much nicer setup. I'm pleased that I can mount the Orbiter V2.0 directly above the E3D hotend and have a fully supported filament path from the gears right into the hot end. Before the V2, I used the Orbiter V1.5 which was larger and required me to mount the extruder off-axis and tilting upwards. The new design on the V2 allows the extruder to mount parallel to the Smart Effector and I have oriented the mount so the extruder clears the delta arms throughout the area of the bed - there is no need to restrict the printing envelope. The Rostock arms attach to the Smart Effector in a different way than the separate ball ends often used with the Smart Effector. Therefore, other Smart Effector mounts won't work when using the Rostock Max ball cup arms since the Orbiter Extruder needs to be rotated to clear the arms. My printer has been converted to: + Duet Wifi controller + Duet Smart Effector + 713Maker.com Duet Smart Effector Adapter + Stock SeeMeCNC ball cup arms I print this with the flat (top) surface down on the bed. I installed melt-in M3 threaded inserts in all of the mount holes (5 total) after drilling the holes to the appropriate size for my inserts. All inserts are slightly recessed below the surface of the mount. The mount is attached to the Smart Effector with M3x8mm screws and washer, with a nylon washer between the steel washer and the bottom surface of the Smart Effector (to prevent shorting of any contacts. The extruder is attached to the top of the mount using M3x10 screws and washers.
