Order & Chaos

Order & Chaos

I started with four identical rings in ZBrush and using just the Move tool, I reshaped the rings into this design. These rings go in all directions but they come together at one point in a star. So even if things sometimes seem to be completely chaotic, if you look at them from just the right angle you will see the order. Instructions I used MakerWare 2.4 to prepare the file with a customized profile (**see below), a MakerBot Replicator2 and the following settings with white MakerBot PLA to do the printing: Infill = 10% Layer Height = 0.200 Shells = 1 Feedrate = 90 Travel Feed = 150 Temperature = 230 I used a raft with full support. It took a less than 4 hours to print at a height of 68 mm. Removing the support structure didn't take too long. "* I created a new profile using MakerBot PLA Standard and then modified these two lines as follows: ... "doSupport": true, ... "supportAngle": 45.0, This provides more support for overhangs than the default.
