I was made in the original design of mid-size 7-segment LED. I tried to make electronic hobby parts, by CNC machines. making video : http://youtu.be/8MvrWShI3Qo Instructions Segment box was output in the dual extruder of Makerbot replicator. If you are using a single extruder, crawling on the paper and the diffuser would be good.
