Original XBox 1.0 GPU Fan Adapter

Replace your stock GPU fan on your Xbox 1.0 version with this adapter and a 40x40x10mm fan. XBox 1.1 through 1.6 did not have a GPU fan, so this is only for launch edition model 1.0. Save your original GPU screws! You'll need them to attach the adapter to the heatsink. It helps to start driving the screws to tap into the adapter before mounting it to the heatsink. Stop when you see the screw slightly poking through the other side of the adapter. You don't need to use fan screws to attach the Noctua (or other 40x40x10mm fan) to the adapter - it's a press fit and clamps the fan to the heatsink really well. Be sure to use a 12 volt fan! A 5v fan will die a quick death when connected to the 12v fan header. The exact model I used is the Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX 12v version. Remember that the Dreamcast also uses a 40x40x10 Noctua fan for the fan mod, but it's the 5v model! Do not get them mixed up. Check the sticker on the fan for the voltage it operates at. Also, this Noctua fan is slightly lower CFM than stock (4.82 to 5.7), so it's recommended to use high quality thermal paste between the GPU and heatsink if switching to a lower CFM fan than stock. A case fan upgrade would also help.. I'm not responsible for any damages that occur - this is simply an adapter that allows you to more easily mod your original XBox 1.0.
