The OG Xbox 1.0 motherboard has a small 40x10mm fan on the GPU. As the fan ages it can be substantially louder than the case fan. Unfortunately the GPU fan has a custom housing to attach it to the heat sink. This adapter lets you use a new 40x10mm fan while still being able to attach it to the heat sink. It works well with a new AD0412MX-G70/AD0412MX-G70-LF or Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX. AD0412MX-G70 is the original Xbox part (excepting the housing) and is quiet at 19 dB with an airflow of 9.7 m³/h / 5.7 CFM. NF-A4x10 FLX is slightly quieter at 17.9 dB but also with a reduced airflow of 8.2 m³/h / 4.8 CFM.
